Opening Our Doors Events at The Mary Baker Eddy Library
Inspiring Performances and Activities Mark Unique Arts Festival Opening
Boston, MA—As part of the Fenway Alliance (a consortium of 22 cultural, academic and arts institutions), The Mary Baker Eddy Library is again thrilled to be participating in Boston’s largest annual free day of arts and cultural activities. The Library will be open free to the public in honor of the festival on Monday, October 8th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Library activities and performances throughout the day include performances by Project STEP and Zili Misik, Mapparium® tours, mural drawing, children’s story telling and face painting as well as Collection talks.

11:30 Children’s story telling with the Reference Room staff.
12:00 Performance by Project STEP (String Training and Education Program for Students of Color) in the majestic Hall of Ideas®.
1:00 Performance by Project STEP (String Training and Education Program for Students of Color) in the majestic Hall of Ideas.
1:30 Children’s story telling with the Lending and Reference Room staff.
2:00 Collection item “Table Talk” with the Curatorial staff.
2:30 Children’s story telling with the Lending and Reference Room staff.
3:00 Performance by Zili Misik, Haitian-inspired musicians inspiring children of all ages to dance and play along to the rhythms! Zili Misik music bridges cultures, generations, and continents.
All Day See the three-story, painted glass Mapparium globe, inspiring Hall of Ideas, and tour the Library historical and interactive exhibits for free! Musical performers, mural drawing, face painting, storytelling, and Collection talks.

The opening celebration to Opening Our Doors with take place at Evans Way Park at 10:00 a.m. with complimentary breakfast and special guest, Boston Children’s Chorus!
