Gloria Flowers, The Mary Baker Eddy Library\u2019s summer research intern, reintroduces Episode 13: \u201cWomen&#8217;s rights\u2014and a woman&#8217;s right to interpret the Bible.\u201d She talks with podcast host Jonathon Eder about why she especially liked this podcast\u2019s topic and thought it should be featured again as an end-of-summer episode. She also discusses how her time at the Library has sparked a new appreciation of history. In addition, Eder shares some behind-the-scenes details on how the episode came together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen&#8217;s rights\u2014and a woman&#8217;s right to interpret the Bible\u201d first aired in April 2018. Guests Dr. Barry Huff and Dr. Sherry Darling discussed the significance of biblical interpretation to the advancement of human rights, focusing on issues important to women. His chapter \u201cMary Baker Eddy: Liberating Interpreter of the Pauline Corpus\u201d appears in <em>Strangely Familiar: Proto-Feminist Interpretations of Patriarchal Biblical Texts<\/em>, published by the Society of Biblical Literature. She recently taught a course titled \u201cSpiritual Paths to Abstract Art\u201d at Harvard Divinity School, examining various twentieth-century artists through the lens of religious studies.\r\n\r\nDr. Braude has a long-standing history with The Mary Baker Eddy Library.
