box_shadow_vertical_tablet=&#8221;0px&#8221; box_shadow_blur_tablet=&#8221;40px&#8221; box_shadow_spread_tablet=&#8221;0px&#8221; z_index_tablet=&#8221;500&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>A fines de 1878 y comienzos de 1879, Mary Baker Eddy pronunci\u00f3 las primeras variaciones de su serm\u00f3n \u201cLa curaci\u00f3n cristiana\u201d a su congregaci\u00f3n, la Iglesia de Cristo (Cient\u00edfico). Estos eran sermones titulados \u201cLa nueva lengua, o el perdido elemento de curaci\u00f3n del cristianismo\u201d y \u201cC\u00f3mo el cristianismo perdi\u00f3 su elemento de curaci\u00f3n\u201d.<span id='easy-footnote-1-26620' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.marybakereddylibrary.org\/es\/research\/cual-es-la-historia-de-la-curacion-cristiana\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-26620' title='\u201cSunday Meetings\u201d [Reuniones dominicales], &lt;em&gt;Boston Daily Globe,&lt;\/em&gt; 2 December 1878; Eddy, manuscript, April 1879, A10368B.'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>El 18 de abril de 1880, la Sra. Eddy dio la conferencia \u201cLa curaci\u00f3n cristiana\u201d durante un servicio en los Salones de Hawthorne Rooms en la calle 2 Park Street en Boston.<span id='easy-footnote-2-26620' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.marybakereddylibrary.org\/es\/research\/cual-es-la-historia-de-la-curacion-cristiana\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-26620' title='Mrs. Glover Eddy, &lt;em&gt;Christian Healing: A Lecture&lt;\/em&gt; [La curaci\u00f3n cristiana: una conferencia] (Cambridge, MA: John Wilson &amp;amp; Son, 1880).'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> De acuerdo con un anuncio en el <em>Boston Daily Globe,<\/em> el tema para la reuni\u00f3n era \u201cSobre los enfermos pondr\u00e1n sus manos y sanar\u00e1n\u201d, cita del Evangelio de Marcos (16:18), la cual es parte del texto introductorio del serm\u00f3n.<span id='easy-footnote-3-26620' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.marybakereddylibrary.org\/es\/research\/cual-es-la-historia-de-la-curacion-cristiana\/#easy-footnote-bottom-3-26620' title='\u201cSunday Services\u201d [Servicios dominicales], &lt;em&gt;Boston Daily Globe,&lt;\/em&gt; 17 April 1880, 2.'><sup>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s del servicio, la iglesia celebr\u00f3 una reuni\u00f3n de negocios y nombr\u00f3 un comit\u00e9 de tres personas para que supervisara la impresi\u00f3n de \u201cla conferencia de nuestra Pastora\u201d.<span id='easy-footnote-4-26620' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.marybakereddylibrary.org\/es\/research\/cual-es-la-historia-de-la-curacion-cristiana\/#easy-footnote-bottom-4-26620' title='Church of Christ (Scientist), undated, A11308, 2.'><sup>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> La primera edici\u00f3n fue titulada \u201cLa curaci\u00f3n cristiana: Una conferencia\u201d. La compa\u00f1\u00eda impresora, John Wilson and Son, de la University Press en Cambridge, le envi\u00f3 a la Sra. Eddy una factura por US$35 en mayo, por 500 copias de un folleto de 17 p\u00e1ginas.<span id='easy-footnote-5-26620' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.marybakereddylibrary.org\/es\/research\/cual-es-la-historia-de-la-curacion-cristiana\/#easy-footnote-bottom-5-26620' title='De John Wilson &amp;amp; Son a Eddy, 19 May 1880, IC334a.45.001.'><sup>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>La curaci\u00f3n cristiana<\/em> fue la primera publicaci\u00f3n de la Sra. Eddy para circulaci\u00f3n general despu\u00e9s de <em>Ciencia y Salud,<\/em> el cual hab\u00eda sido publicado siete a\u00f1os antes. Alrededor de 1882, dos Cient\u00edficas Cristianas, Julia S. Bartlett y Abbie K. Whiting, fueron de puerta en puerta compartiendo el folleto. Bartlett recordaba lo siguiente:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Conseguimos un buen n\u00famero de los folletos intitulados <em>La curaci\u00f3n cristiana<\/em>. Con excepci\u00f3n de <em>Ciencia y Salud,<\/em> eso era todo lo que se hab\u00eda publicado sobre Ciencia Cristiana en esa \u00e9poca. Y con esto comenzamos nuestra misi\u00f3n, elegimos una de las mejores calles, e \u00edbamos de casa en casa, ella en una vereda, yo en la otra. Esto constitu\u00eda una actitud valiente para una persona t\u00edmida y apocada, y exig\u00eda una gran lucha interior. Pero todo eso fue puesto de lado al ir conociendo a la se\u00f1ora de la casa, quien, en toda ocasi\u00f3n, se mostraba muy interesada en lo que yo ten\u00eda que decirle respecto a la Ciencia Cristiana, y expresaba su deseo de reunirse con nosotras y aprender m\u00e1s.
