You\u2019ll get a glimpse into the lives of men and women who worked between 1908 and 1910 at Mary Baker Eddy\u2019s final residence in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts\u2014their home as well as the buzzing headquarters of the global Christian Science movement. Referring to 400 Beacon Street as \u201cone of the most mentally active, high-profile households in the world,\u201d Frederick talks with podcast host Jonathon Eder about topics big and small. We get a fascinating look into Eddy\u2019s vital preparations for the future of her church. Eventually she pivoted to writing fiction for young readers. Since then she has published 20 novels and picture books with Simon &amp; Schuster. She is also co-author with Isabel Ferguson of the 2013 biography <em>A World More Bright: The Life of Mary Baker Eddy<\/em>, published by The Christian Science Publishing Society. Today Frederick is Director of Research and Publications at Longyear Museum. She earned her bachelor's degree at Vassar College and holds advanced degrees from Yale University and the University of Chicago. Her primary interest is the religious history of American women, and she has published many articles on women in Judaism, Christian Science, and American religious life, as well as authored several books on religion and women in America. Dr. Braude\u2019s current research focuses on spiritual influences in abstract painting. She recently taught a course titled \u201cSpiritual Paths to Abstract Art\u201d at Harvard Divinity School, examining various twentieth-century artists through the lens of religious studies.\r\n\r\nDr. Braude has a long-standing history with The Mary Baker Eddy Library.
