The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated out of the original tongues and with the former translations diligently compared and revised by His Majesty's Special Command. Appointed to be read in churches.
Oxford: Printed at the University Press, 1935.
Folio. Full blue morocco levant. This is considered a masterpiece of Bruce Rogers, an American book designer and one of the foremost typographers of the twentieth century. Often called the “Oxford Lectern Bible,” this volume was made as a gift to the people of Canada to be placed in a chapel being built in Flanders’s fields to memorialize the Canadian soldiers who had died there during World War I.
