Todavia, Peter J. Henniker-Heaton, um Cientista Crist\u00e3o ingl\u00eas, relatou mais tarde algo que pode ser a fonte dessa hist\u00f3ria.<\/p>\n<p>Em novembro de 1939, um oficial n\u00e3o identificado da Marinha Real pediu a tr\u00eas ou quatro Cientistas Crist\u00e3os, entre eles Peter J. Henniker-Heaton, \u201cOur Times and Their Future\u201d [Nossa \u00e9poca e seu futuro], 17 de julho de 1971, Arquivos da Igreja, Caixa 201344471, Pasta 201344528, 6\u20137.'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> Naquela \u00e9poca, a for\u00e7a a\u00e9rea alem\u00e3 estava lan\u00e7ando minas magn\u00e9ticas no estu\u00e1rio do Rio T\u00e2misa. Embora as enseadas tivessem sido rastreadas em busca dessas minas, em setembro e outubro, \u201cquase uma d\u00fazia de navios mercantes foi afundada\u201d.<span id='easy-footnote-2-27172' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.marybakereddylibrary.org\/pt-br\/research\/pergunte-a-um-pesquisador-churchill\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-27172' title='Winston S. Churchill, &lt;em&gt;Mem\u00f3rias da Segunda Guerra Mundial,&lt;\/em&gt; Volume 1 (1919\u20131941) (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil: HarperCollins, 1917), 131.'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Em sua palestra intitulada \u201cOur Times and Their Future\u201d [Nossa \u00e9poca e seu futuro], proferida em 1971, na Reuni\u00e3o Bienal das Organiza\u00e7\u00f5es Universit\u00e1rias, nA Igreja M\u00e3e, Henniker-Heaton disse:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Lembro-me de um dia, em novembro [em 1939], no come\u00e7o da Segunda Guerra Mundial. A primeira arma secreta dos nazistas era uma mina magn\u00e9tica. Com o passar dos meses, essa mina acabou formando uma barricada que bloqueava os portos brit\u00e2nicos da regi\u00e3o leste e sudeste. Seis navios afundaram no Rio T\u00e2misa em uma \u00fanica noite.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Na manh\u00e3 seguinte, o oficial do Minist\u00e9rio da Marinha, respons\u00e1vel por lidar com esse perigo, telefonou para tr\u00eas ou quatro Cientistas Crist\u00e3os e, em car\u00e1ter de urg\u00eancia, pediu-lhes que \u201crealizassem seu trabalho\u201d. Cada Cientista Crist\u00e3o orou \u00e0 sua pr\u00f3pria maneira e, sem d\u00favida, havia outras pessoas orando tamb\u00e9m. Em nossa casa, mantivemos no pensamento o verdadeiro significado de magnetismo, estabelecido pela Sra. Eddy: \u201cH\u00e1 uma s\u00f3 atra\u00e7\u00e3o real, a do Esp\u00edrito. O apontar da agulha magn\u00e9tica para o polo simboliza esse poder que abrange tudo, ou seja, a atra\u00e7\u00e3o de Deus, a Mente divina\u201d. Assim sendo, n\u00e3o havia lugar para uma atra\u00e7\u00e3o destrutiva.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>O Sr. Winston Churchill completa a hist\u00f3ria em seu livro, <em>The Gathering Storm<\/em> [A aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o da tempestade]. No dia 22 de novembro, o dia sobre o qual estou falando, \u201centre 21h e 22h\u201d \u2014 usando as palavras de Churchill, \u201ca sorte nos favoreceu\u201d com \u201cuma oportunidade de ouro\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Uma mina magn\u00e9tica caiu sobre um banco de lodo, que a amorteceu, deixando-a exposta e fazendo com que n\u00e3o explodisse. Essa mina foi examinada e rapidamente p\u00f4de ser projetado um dispositivo antiminas.
