\n\n\nFomos consultados a respeito de uma afirma\u00e7\u00e3o atribu\u00edda a Mary Baker Eddy. Acaso ela chegou a relacionar o ato de \u201cviver o amor\u201d \u00e0 pr\u00e1tica bem-sucedida da cura pela Ci\u00eancia Crist\u00e3?<\/p>\n

Nossos pesquisadores constataram que Mary Baker Eddy de fato falou sobre esse tema em seu Curso Normal de 20 a 21 de novembro de 1898 \u2014 o \u00faltimo que ela ministrou.<\/p>\n

Lida Stocking Stone, que estava entre os 70 alunos convidados a participar desse curso, relembrou o seguinte em sua reminisc\u00eancia de 1935:<\/p>\n

Entre as muitas joias espirituais que nossa L\u00edder nos concedeu, no curto per\u00edodo de dois dias, uma se torna mais clara e mais brilhante a cada ano. Foi perguntado a cada aluno da classe: \u201cSe tu fosses chamado para atender algu\u00e9m que aparentemente estivesse morrendo, o que farias?\u201d Depois que todos responderam com afinco, mas de maneira t\u00e9cnica, ela disse: \u201cSim, todos v\u00f3s respondestes cientificamente, mas isso n\u00e3o seria suficiente para o caso. Tu tens de ter vivido<\/u> o amor<\/u>\u201d. Jamais esquecerei a express\u00e3o celestial no rosto de nossa amada L\u00edder. Para mim, ela havia colocado o selo da Ci\u00eancia Crist\u00e3 sobre seu ensino. Pois nossa L\u00edder sempre ensinou que o mero intelectualismo jamais curaria o enfermo, purificaria o pecador ou ressuscitaria os mortos.<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
