Spiritual and musical evolutions in the Christian Science Hymnal

Mary Baker Eddy wanted her church to sing! Hear about the historical significance of the Christian Science Hymnal—and its contribution to congregational singing across the world. A panel of experts share insights about some of the hymns and hymnals, composers and compilers who helped bring the Christian Science Hymnal into being, and the far reaching impact of hymns in churches, homes, and other settings.

  • Sara Rockabrand shares about what she and her husband Robert Rockabrand explored throughout their collaborative work and research on the Christian Science Hymnal
  • Mary Louise (Mel) Bringle, Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Brevard College, is an expert in the field of hymnody and a Fellow at The Hymn Society of the United States and Canada
  • Mike Hamilton is the Executive Manager of The Mary Baker Eddy Library
  • Christa Seid-Graham, vocalist, leads musical portions of the program
