Mary Baker Eddy: A Life of Service
Though best known for founding a religion, Christian Science, and for her bestselling book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Eddy was also a great philanthropist. Her legacy continues in the institutions she founded, such as The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and The Christian Science Monitor. Organizations she donated to, including the YMCA, still thrive today and her giving left an indelible mark in particular upon the city of Concord, N.H., where she lived.
“Mary Baker Eddy: A Life of Service” examined the depths and details of Eddy’s civic service and contributions. It drew attention to individuals, companies, and institutions today that give of themselves, and invited viewers to ask themselves how they could do the same by investing in someone’s future on an international scale or simply by buying a pair of shoes.
