Dan Cohen is Vice Provost for Information Collaboration, Dean of the Libraries, and Professor of History at Northeastern University. His work has focused on the impact of digital media and technology on all aspects of knowledge and learning—from the nature of libraries and their evolving resources, to twenty-first century research techniques and software tools, to the changing landscape of communication and publication. Host of the “What’s New” podcast, Dr. Cohen has directed major initiatives helping to shape that future. He received a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, majoring in religion; a masters of theological studies from Harvard Divinity School; and a master’s in philosophy and doctorate in history from Yale University. He was a 2006 inaugural recipient of the American Council of Learned Societies’s Digital Innovation Fellowship.
