Did Mary Baker Eddy write it? “My income is Life…”
“My income is Life, Truth and Love. It is equal to any demand that can be made upon it.” We are often asked about a text that begins with those words. Are they by Mary Baker Eddy?
This prayer was first published in 1934, in a book by Gilbert C. Carpenter and his son Gilbert C. Carpenter, Jr., titled Essays on Christian Science Ascribed to Mary Baker Eddy.
We have not been able to locate any evidence showing that Eddy authored these words. Neither do we know who the author was.
For additional information about materials compiled by the Carpenters, read the Ask a Researcher blog “What are the ‘blue book’ and the ‘red book’?”
